Spreading more awareness about fast fashion and getting more people to think before they buy to help the environment. We’d like to take away the stigma around buying second hand clothes.
Our Social Issue
As a broad topic we have chosen the environment with a focus on the issue of fast fashion
Why We Chose It
We chose the social issues because we wanted to spread awareness about fast fashion as we as a group feel like not many people pay attention to this topic and feel that many people really don’t understand how big and broad of an environmental issue fast fashion is . We want to educate people so we can have a cleaner and better world to live in instead of living in a world where millions of clothes are being dumped on the daily instead of given to a charity or to help those in need who can’t afford to buy any.
Our Goal
Our idea was to sell reused and environmentally conscious clothing to fill the need that fast fashion adresses while also educating them on the effects of their fashion choices. we hope to achieve a decrease or end of fast fashion and an increased realisation of the effects of unsustainable clothes production on the environment and society.
Our Innovative Action
We set up an information stall in school at our school trade fair. We took part in the marshes trade fair for a second year in a row and will be party in another one in a months time !! We put up flyers around the school. We went into the different year groups in our schools classes to have a talk about fast fashion. We made up a weak quizzes and handed them out to test the students and teachers in our schools knowledge about Fast-Fashion.
Our Impact
We have raised money for lots of different charity’s such as the Irish Red Cross , which we are proud of. We have had talks about it with many of the year groups in our school so we feel as if we have made a huge difference and have really educated those in our school.
