Raise awareness and funds to support female students who face difficulties in attending school. We are passionate about promoting gender equality and ensuring access to quality education, as we believe this is critical for empowering young women and breaking the cycle of poverty.

Our Social Issue

Gender equality in education Raise and support women’s education in underdeveloped countries. We wanted to support our sister school in South Sudan, Loreto Rumbek as we had the privilege of hearing a powerful speech from Sister Orla, a volunteer who manages the foundation, which deeply moved us. Her words about the importance of education and the challenges faced by young women in South Sudan have inspired us to take action

Why We Chose It

We chose to address the social issue of poor education for women in South Sudan as it is an issue that can not only have an impact on each individual girl in South Sudan, but their families and generations to come. If girls aren’t given an opportunity to get an education, or they are forced to leave their education early, it can result in them being unable to start their own career and earn money. This means that they may face financial hardship in the future. They may also be less aware of how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Our Goal

Our main goal is to support women's education in Rumbek , South Sudan. We hope to raise money for the building of schools for women in Rumbek and therefore help with women's education. Education is the way for these women to better their lives and a meal for these women who may not have one otherwise. We believe that education is crucial for everyone and that it is everyone's right to have an education, especially those less fortunate.

Our Innovative Action

We organised a bakesale in our school that we know is popular with people. We then organised a sweet counting competition. As December came and Grafton Street got busier with Christmas shoppers, we went out bucket collecting. This was not only an effective way to raise money but also raised awareness. We also set up a pancake stand in our school the Monday before Pancake Tuesday. Again, this was popular with people in our school. We also got a chance to decorate a wall in our school for one week that was a great visual way to raise money.

We made a good impact as people as people like to donate to good to support our sister school but also to keep educated and not married young.
