1.We aim to raise awareness about the unfair expectations of women as they navigate being a mother as well as being a successful career woman. 2. We hope to commend women that manage a job as well as a household. 3. We would like to advocate for change with regards to the demands of modern life for women. 4. We want to educate our younger students about Gender Pay Gap. 5. We would like to create a micro documentary to highlight this issue.
Our Social Issue
We have chosen to address the issue of expectations of working mothers versus working dads. We are concerned about inferiority, the gender pay gap, exclusion and being looked down upon.

Why We Chose It
We as young women feel passionately about gender inequality as we dont want it to become our future. We endeavour to create better upcoming events for ourselves so that we and future generations can live a better life. We understand how challenging it can be for women in these times and our team wants to create awareness so that this issue can be resolved.

Our Goal
Our ‘big idea’ is to make a documentary about local women and their working life as well as their home life. We want to delve into the effort it took to be the successful people they are and how they got there. Our group wants to focus on how they survive in this economy and social climate. We want to show younger generations from 1st year up the difficulties women face within our world and hopefully spark a movement for change.

Our Innovative Action
The innovative actions we have taken are Firstly setting up a Jingle Mingle stand by inviting people to come buy delicious goods while also educating them on our social issue. It was a day full of opportunity. Secondly we worked with students in our school in a social experiment to figure out how aware they were of the social inequalities which are still faced by mothers in Ireland today. We worked with a group of 25 First Year Students and a group of LCA students to gather our data. Thirdly, we set up another stand for our school Trade Fair.

Our Impact
We aim to contribute to the movement for gender equality by providing individuals with the tools and knowledge they need to challenge inequality in their lives. Through education, we are trying to help raise awareness about gender disparities and empower people to take action, whether it's advocating for equal pay, promoting inclusive policies, or supporting underrepresented groups in the workplace. By offering our mini docu-series, we hope to create a ripple effect that encourages positive change—whether through empowering individuals to speak up or by fostering safer and more inclusive environments where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive.
