1. We aim to spread awareness about this very important issue with teenage girls in our locality. 2. We aim to increase awareness about the types of self harm that affect teenage girls. 3. We aim to offer help to the student body so that they know how and where to seek help.
Our Social Issue
We are concerned with self harm in teenage girls. We feel that young people have often low self esteem and their feelings of self worth are at an all time low. We want to equip young women with the tools to help cope with issues around their self esteem and grow in confidence.

Why We Chose It
we speak of a very important topic that needs more awareness than it already has. Our topic of youth mental health covers all young individuals in our lives and we think it's important that everyone knows how to assist and support a young person struggling with their mental health.

Our Goal
Our big idea is a workbook, with which we hope to break the stigma around young peoples mental health and help people feel more free to talk about their problems and speak up without discrimination. Stop the fear of speaking up and help teenagers get the help they need.

Our Innovative Action
We have spread awareness through multiple events through our school. At one of these events. we fundraised money for Jigsaw in which we presented members of the organisation with a cheque when they came to our school to give us a talk. We have also started planning a product that we are making to spread our idea to a bigger audience. We actively post on our social media and update our followers with things we are currently doing as part of our project.
Our Impact
We have made a positive difference by spreading awareness on social media and fundraising money for a mental health charity . We have also started working on a workbook (see the appendices below). This workbook is specifically aimed at 12-15 year old female students and it aims to focus on female self-esteem.
