Goal Image

Our goal is to spread awareness of mental health services available to our youth today. We want to recognise and work towards helping the issues within these services. We also wish to contribute towards creating a safe space for teens who struggle with mental health and reduce the stigma around teens mental health in particular. We hope to raise money in order to be able to donate to and support youth mental charities our chosen one being Jigsaw.

Our Social Issue

The social issue that our team has chosen to address is the lack of awareness and stigma around youth mental health. We will also address the lack and strain on support systems that can help youth struggling with their mental health.

Why We Chose It

We chose teen mental health as the focus of our YSI project because it’s an issue that deeply affects many young people today. With increasing pressures from academics, social media, and family dynamics, teens often struggle with mental health challenges that can impact their well-being. We felt compelled to address this issue because of its growing relevance and the lack of sufficient resources and support for mental health in adolescence. By working on this project, we hope to raise awareness, break the stigma around mental health, and create solutions that can help teens feel supported and empowered. It’s a topic

Our Goal

Our big idea for this project is to host multiple fun and positive events in our school to raise awareness and try and spread positive mental health in our school. We also hope to inform students in our school about teen mental health, and the stigma around it in society. Our main events for this project are to host a Jamie day for members of our school, we plan to host a charity match in our school, our YSI group plan to do a sunrise swim this May, and we plan to do informative and fun workshops with younger years.

Our Innovative Action

So far into our project, we have held our first get mindly week. We held fun and informative workshops for younger years in our school to inform students about teen mental health all throughout the week where we thought students about mental health and gave advise and guidance around their own mental health. That Friday we also hosted a Jamie day for all of the members of our school as a fun and lighthearted way to raise money for our chosen charity jiqsaw by encouraging students to come in in their Jamie's and donate €2. That day we also put

Our Impact

We think that our get mindly week made a positive difference as it was a fun and informative week which lifted a lot of students moral around our school. We think that our workshops really benefited younger years and we're informative to students who didn't necessarily know much about teen mental health. We also think our Jamie day was a success as we raised over €300 for our chosen charity jigsaw, while still giving students and team members a positive and fun way to interact with our get mindly week.
