We hope to inform people more about the food they eat and what is really in them that we do not know. We want people to make healthy choices around their nutrition using the information we have given them.
Our Social Issue
We have chosen to address the problems with unhealthy eating and malnutrition with foods we eat in our everyday lives.

Why We Chose It
The issue that we are tackling is the poor quality of food in regards to the nutritional values in todays food. Todays foods are heavily processed and have been stripped of all goodness. Obesity levels have rapidly risen in thew past few years due to cheap processed foods. This causes health issues such as diabetes, heart problems and high cholesterol levels all caused by bad food! We surveyed our community and fellow students to learn more about their food habits.

Our Goal
Our main goal is to educate the general public about the quality and content of the food we consume. We hope our community and the wider world will think twice about their food and boycott companies that care more about the profit lining their pockets than the quality and wellbeing of their products and costumers. It would be incredible if major companies would hear and listen to our concerns and promote and advertise their products in a more clear and direct way e.g. telling us what is really in their products.

Our Innovative Action
We have put up informative posters around the school. These posters featured the sugar content in different foods and drinks that are sold by big companies. We used these to spread the word about how unhealthy these products are and how they should not be drunk or eaten every day. We also put up posters around the school promoting healthy eating through nutritious recipes. The students could take a recipe with them to bring home. We also created a recipe book, full of healthy, nutritious meals. We used loads of vibrant colours, so children could also interact with it.
