Our Social Issue
Our project is an anti vape campaign. We want to spread awareness on the dangers of vaping and the long and short term effects it has on your body. We hope to decrease the number of people who vape in our school community. We will provide information to students, teachers and parents.

Why We Chose It
Raising Awareness: we were concerned about how many people, especially teens, are unaware of the health risks associated with vaping. With the increasing popularity of e-cigarettes, we wanted to educate others about the dangers of nicotine addiction, lung damage, and other potential long-term effects. Personal Experience or Observations: we have witnessed peers and people in our community struggling with vaping or its consequences. Seeing firsthand the impact it can have on people’s health or their lives might have inspired us to take action and create a campaign that encourages healthier habits. We want to make a positive change!

Our Goal
Our big idea is Anti Vape Campaign. Our motto is "Clear Lungs, Clear Choices". We hope to create an awareness in our school community on the dangers of vaping. Through surveys we have discovered that alot of peers in our school vape and we hope that highlighting the issue such students will stop vaping and that they will resonate with our motto 'Clear Clungs, Clear Choices'. We hope to achieve this by sharing educational presentations to all years, bring in guest speakers, distributing posters and informing parents also.

Our Innovative Action
Actions: 1) Posters and advertisement: Our group created posters on the dangers of vaping, we created visuals on the damage it does to your lungs to captivate students attention. We advertised our groups motto 'Clear Lungs, Clear Choice' on our school social media platforms 2)Guest Speakers: Guards and local nurse came to our school on seperate occassions to speak to class groups on the dangers of vaping 3)Educational presentation: our class created a powerpoint presentation to be presented in all well-being classes 4) Voxpop - in the process of creating a video on our anti-vaping campaign.

Our Impact
- We have made a positive impact by debunking the stigma that 'vaping is cool'. All years espescially first years now know the dangers and there has been a decrease in students vaping -we have made another survey on vaping and this showed us less people have tried vaping since the start of our campaign - students know the dangers it has on their lungs, mental and general health and are more health conscious - we have made our school community a healthier and positive place and we have shown that it is good to say no if offered avape
