We would like to make our school a more sustainable school and make people aware of climate change. We would like to recreate a new green schools committee since it hasn’t been active since last 2 years.
Our Social Issue
We chose climate change awareness and having a sustainable environment as our social issue. We would like to make people aware why it is important to keep our planet clean and sustainable. Also we want to recreate the green schools committee in our school since it hasn’t been active recently. We would like to get our school to recycle more.
Who We Worked With
We mostly worked by ourselves, but when we went out of just being the group we would discuss our issues and ideas with the green school committee which brought a lot more new ideas and thoughts on various topics. Our class teacher also had helped us with this project since the start.
How We Communicated
We told our project to a wide range of people such as students from our school, their parents and the public. We managed to accomplish this with our stall at our school open day and the trade fair in our local shopping centre. We had leaflets and survey to get our word out and about.
Our Innovative Action and Impact
We had a stall at our school open day which was able to reach a wide circle of people and spread the information and awareness. We also had one in our local shopping centre which spread awareness to the public, people would stop to hear what we had to say and if they were in a hurry they would do our mini survey and take a leaflet which had the same information we would tell them so them came in handy. We believe that people had learned new facts and information about climate change that they didn’t know of. Also that people will start doing something for their planet, if they aren’t already because we can always have a plan B if plan A doesn’t work out but there will be no Planet B so we have to take care of our planet Earth.
