Scratch A Green Space
Where young minds embark on a journey of creativity and innovation.
This workshop empowers young people to creatively tackle community challenges, starting with Sustainable Development Goal 11: ensuring access to safe, green public spaces by 2030.
Participants will explore the importance of green spaces for sustainable communities and collaborate in teams to reimagine and design green and recreational areas using Scratch coding.
Participants will learn:
- Coding Fundamentals: They will learn the basics of programming through Scratch's intuitive block-based interface, understanding concepts like sequencing, loops, conditionals, and variables.
- Creativity and Design: Participants will explore their creativity by designing interactive stories, games, animations, and simulations using Scratch's visual tools and sprites.
- Problem-Solving Skills: They will develop critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities as they work through challenges to achieve their desired outcomes in their projects.
- Digital Literacy: They will enhance their digital literacy skills by learning to navigate and use online tools and platforms for creating and sharing their projects.
- Self-Expression: Scratch empowers participants to express themselves creatively through coding, enabling them to tell stories, showcase their interests, and explore their passions in a digital format.
Designed to be intuitive and fun, Scratch empowers participants to design and develop their own interactive stories, games, and animations right in their web browsers. Request a workshop here.
