What is the YSI Youth Panel?

The purpose of the YSI Youth Panel is to ensure that YSI’s offerings remain accessible, relevant, and youth-led.
The YSIYP acts as a bridge between young people, YSI staff, and the YSI Board—ensuring young voices are represented at every level of the organisation.
It’s a two-way street: we listen, learn, and act on your ideas—because youth voice should lead the way.

The YSI Youth Panel is your chance to keep that spark alive. If you're aged 15–24, passionate about social change, and want to have your say in shaping YSI’s future—this is your moment.

We’re recruiting members for the youth panel and we’d love to see you on board.

What will YOU do?

As a member of the YSI Youth Panel, you’ll have a real role in shaping the future of YSI. Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

• Influence YSI’s policies, campaigns, and social innovation programmes with your ideas and insights
• Contribute fresh ideas to improve and evolve the YSI experience
• Represent the voices of young people involved in YSI nationwide
• Participate in YSI events and represent the organisation at external events
• Promote YSI through social media takeovers and youth-led storytelling
• Lead your own mini-projects or campaigns to raise awareness and inspire others

And don’t just take our word for it - here’s what the current Youth Panel has been up to this year:

• Created social media content 

• Acted as panellists and reviewed Regional Speak Outs

• Attended YSI Board meetings to ensure youth voice is heard at the top

• Took part in a marketing workshop conducted by YSI's marketing team and shared recommendations 

• Helped develop YSI materials, including a youth-friendly Child Safeguarding Statement

• Received pitching training by YSI and served as judges at Pitching Day

• Promoted the Youth Panel and its work at national YSI events, including the YSI Awards

What will WE do?

YSI is committed to:

• Value your voice - you’ll have a real seat at the decision-making table
• Act on your feedback and keep you updated on how your input shapes our work
• Support your ideas and help turn them into reality
• Provide exciting opportunities for learning, networking, and collaboration - think workshops, guest speakers, and connecting with other youth-led panels

• Monthly online meetings
• Participation in events like the Regional Speak Outs and YSI Awards
• At least one in-person meet-up per term
• A minimum of 4 online meetings per year
• Panel membership lasts 18 months
