Inspiration! Masks for Deaf Community
Many people have been creating reusable fabric masks to alleviate the pressure on demand for frontline workers, but a key group has been excluded from this movement: the deaf and hard of hearing. Ashley Lawrence, a college student studying education for the deaf and hard of hearing in Kentucky, has modified the traditional fabric mask.
Ashley’s design has a clear window that allows to see and read lips and facial expressions, helping those who rely on lip reading or ASL to communicate.
